Yeas ago, Lutheran teens nicked named me geo, because of my signature on newsletters we published. The name has stuck with some folks, but I am George to others that haven't heard this or my many other stories.

Short Biography:

George Meek was a journeyman electrician in Ukiah California by the time he was a senior in high school in 1974 with training through correspondence courses by Cleveland Institute of Electronics. When he was 21 he went on to be the lead electrician at C&C Plywood, now Plum Creek in Kalispell Montana. He obtained electrical contractors licenses in both Montana and Idaho along with a Second Class FCC License for electronics. He transferred to Plum Creek’s MDF plant in 1977 where he worked for 13 years managing electrical maintenance and developed their first “World Class Maintenance” systems.  In 1990 he managed the electrical design, construction, start up and maintenance of the Willamette Bennettsville MDF plant in South Carolina. There he developed Autonomous Maintenance, other wise called TPM, or operator maintenance along with instituting some of the first computerized maintenance systems in the industry.  Since 1993 he has provided wood products maintenance, engineering, maintenance and process management consulting world wide. George has been working for Evergreen Engineering for the past five years as Process Specialist and Maintenance Consultant.  George also helps the wood products industry companies and managers finding jobs or employees.

He enjoys many outdoor sports including climbing such mountains as South Sister in Oregon and Great Northern among others in Montana. George, also known as Geo was active in Lutheran Youth Group for about 10 years from Montana, to the Carolinas to Oregon. He still stays in touch with many of his "kids", many now with kids. He married Dawna Long from Ukiah in 1975, who his mom babysat when she was 5. They have one son Taylor and a grand daughter Meg. Other hobbies are spin class, bicycling, hiking, hunting, snow skiing, genealogy, family history, computers, telegraph and glass insulator collections and increasing his contact base through the internet.
